I went next door and told the neighbor about the runaway hamster since a hamster can get into their place.  She has her kids on the lookout for Miss Regina, and she won't think that a rat has invaded.

Tomorrow night John, Kathleen, Don and I should be going out to Sutera's for dinner.  I'll go easy, of course, because I'm down 39 pounds and I still have 2 months to go.  I've been pretty careful about eating out -- today I even opted for the salad and not the fat burrito with rice and beans.  Yes, I have pretty consistently picked the non-starchy items.

Starting today I am also abandoning taking Niaspan.  This morning my lips were swollen almost like I'd done cosmetic surgery, and for the last week my left leg has been in constant pain.  "Pain" is one of the contraindications for this drug, so I'm going to see if that is the cause.  I also switched from aspirin and Tylenol to Aleve and Ibuprofen.  They are doing a bit better job of tamping down the pain  So far my system has hated all anti-cholesterol drugs.  I expect that this one is no different, but we'll see.

Miss Regina Hamster is back in her cage.  I heard a little noise in the bathroom -- she was hiding behind a one-drawer shelf, and there were some pistachio shells back there with her leavings.  She bolted, bt I caught her in the corner with the bucket.  She screamed at me ... and we made it all the way to her cage.  As I was releasing her she turned and bit me.  Blood all over -- mine, not hers.  We'll see if I need to go get pills from the doctor tomorrow.
